Valentina, I am or I am not. Valentina Rosselli: An Icon of Sensuality in Comics Created by Guido Crepax. In the fascinating and imaginative realms of comics, few characters have managed to capture the essence of sensuality and female emancipation with as much depth and charm as Valentina Rosselli. Created by Italian artist Guido Crepax, Valentina emerged from the pages of comic books in the 1960s, marking a significant shift in the representation of women in popular culture. Valentina, a talented and intrepid photographer, quickly became an iconic figure in comics. She embodies a captivating blend of beauty, intellect, and independence that has made her irresistibly attractive to readers. Its creator, Guido Crepax, dared to challenge established norms by exploring not only the aesthetics of eroticism, but also the complexities of human emotions and psychology. What makes Valentina so endearing is the way she transcends the one-dimensional stereotype often associated with female characters in comics from that era. She is a strong woman, who takes control of her life and sexuality, breaking with traditional conventions. In a world where women were often relegated to secondary or objectified roles, Valentina stood out as a multifaceted protagonist, full of emotional and intellectual depth. When we look at women in contemporary comics, it's clear that Valentina Rosselli and her creator, Guido Crepax, have left a lasting legacy. Female characters are now often designed in more complex and realistic ways, incorporating the diversity of real women's personalities, backgrounds, and aspirations. Valentina can be seen as a precursor of this change, defying the expectations of her time. However, it is also important to recognize that the current comics landscape is not homogeneous, and challenging representations like Valentina's coexist with those that still reflect outdated stereotypes and conventions. Although there have been notable advances, there is still room for growth and the creation of female characters that inspire and empower, without falling into old traps. Ultimately, Valentina Rosselli and Guido Crepax stand as a testament to comics' ability to shape society's perception of women and female sexuality. With these photographic clippings and the proposal for a variety of Valentina, I sought to show how her influence is felt in contemporary representations, reminding us of the importance of stories that transcend limits, challenge norms and celebrate the rich diversity of female experiences. Bodies, Shadows, Lines and Details Our memory and its passage through some important details in our lives. The eternal struggle of having a memory of a perfect body or eternally keeping in mind how perfect it would be or is in the way we observe it. Not aging in all forms is a perfect world for every human being and why also in fiction? Sensuality is one of the ways to glimpse an object, a desired body or just show how everything can be or have been. Do not show wrinkled body or skin surfaces, but always smooth. But is there a smooth surface? What does the law of physics say? Well, I'm not completely sure, but everything that has details, lines and curves, whether straight or not, tells our story, the story of each individual. The behavior of each individual with passing through time whether in memory, in the body, in the details and in the visualizations of photographs to immortalize in the printed world that was left aside and now in the virtual. “The unconscious is the larger circle that encompasses the smaller circle of consciousness; Everything that is conscious has a previous unconscious stage, while the unconscious can remain in that stage and still claim the full value of a psychic production.” -Sigmund Freud- TWe are all made the same way and in the same way. Maybe through different paths, separate hours, seconds, days, months and years but the flesh, the bones, the bodies and every detail are similar. So our bodies, shadows, lines and details have an affinity to show us who we are. This is the proposal of the bodies. Início
